Department of B. A. (History) - A "Decoding Brahmi: Unravelling India's Ancient Script": 2024-2025

The Department of Arts (History) successfully conducted a three-month value-added course titled;Decoding Brahmi: Unraveling India's Ancient Script"; This course aimed to teach students about the oldest writing system in South Asia, dating back to the 3rd century BCE. It provided insights into ancient languages, administrative practices, and cultural developments. Students learned to read, translate, and decipher the Ashokan Brahmi script. Through field trips and presentations, they explored on-site scripts at the CSMVS Museum and Kanheri Caves, enhancing their understanding of this ancient writing system. Objectives of the Event: The main objective of the Value-Added Script course was Historical Context: Understand the origins and evolution of Brahmi script. Translation; Transliteration: Translate and transliterate inscriptions to decode meanings. Character Proficiency: Identify and decipher Brahmi characters and diacritics. Cultural Preservation: Highlight the importance of preserving ancient manuscripts for future generations. [Event date - 3 Months (July To September).]

The Department of Arts-Junior College successfully organized an educational visit to Vidhan Bhavan for S.Y.J.C. Arts students. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with a practical understanding of the functioning of the Indian Parliament and its legislative processes. B.Sc. I.T. & B.Sc. C.S. Event - Code Carnival

The Department of B.Sc. (I.T.) and B.Sc. (C.S.) Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce organized the Code Carnival on September 30th, 2024, in celebration of Programmers Day. This event aimed to highlight the importance of programming and foster enthusiasm among students. The Code Carnival featured a range of activities, including technical events such as CodeCombat, where participants showcased their coding skills in a competitive environment, and Web Wizards, focusing on innovative web development projects. Additionally, non-technical events like Typing Titans encouraged participants to test their typing speed, while Poster Making allowed students to express their creativity by designing informative posters related to technology.

BAF Event - Two Day Visit To Abhijeet Dies & Tools Pvt. Ltd.

The Department of B.Com. (Accounting & Finance) organized a two-day industrial visit to Abhijeet Dies & Tools Pvt Ltd., Naigaon (East) on August 29-30, 2024. On each day, 48 First Year B.Com. (A&F) students, accompanied by their faculty, toured the manufacturing unit, which produces molds for companies like Mahindra and Hero Motocorp. The visit aimed to give students practical insight into manufacturing processes and costing, including raw material procurement, machining, drilling, assembly, cooling, product trials, quality checks, and cost management practices such as allocation, budgeting, and reporting.

B.A (HISTORY) - A “HARAPPAN ECHOES: 100 YEARS OF UNVEILING AN ANCIENT LEGACY”: 2024-2025

The Department of Arts (History) organized an exhibition titled “Harappan Echoes: 100 Years of Unveiling an Ancient Legacy”. The exhibition was organised with the objective to commemorate the centenary of the announcement of Discovery of the Harappan Civilization on 20th September 1924. The main objective of the field visit was The main objectives behind the program held was: ● To commemorate and celebrate the centenary of the announcement of the discovery of the Harappan Civilization. ● To engage B.A. (History) students in hands-on learning. ● To provide visitors with practical, interactive experiences, enhancing their understanding of Harappan craftsmanship and town planning. "Career in Insurance" for SYJC students

The Department of Commerce organized a seminar on "Career in Insurance" for SYJC students. The purpose of the seminar was to instruct and prepare students for promoting a career in the insurance profession and provide them with the requisite skills. The Guest Speaker, Mr. N. Old age home visit

Junior college students from the Arts department visited the 'Astha' old age home in Uttan to commemorate World Alzheimer's Day. During their visit, the students engaged with senior citizens, gaining valuable insights into the challenges faced by the elderly. This interaction not only fostered empathy but also emphasized the importance of social outreach and care for older generations. The department of B.A.M.M.C. organised a visit to Celebrate Cinema 2024, a grand event that promises to be an unforgettable experience for all enthusiasts of the film and creative arts world, at whistling woods. This gave a unique platform to immerse students in the world of Indian Cinema and Creative Arts. This event will focus on an open dialogue about the contributions of AI & Emerging Media in the Media & Entertainment and Creative Arts space. a lot of insightful discussions, certified workshops, and much more was the attraction for the students there.

The seminar will equip the attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to create and grow a strong, recognizable brand that resonates with individual consumers. SYJC Parents Seminar Sutradhar: "Navigating a New Era of Parenting"

We were delighted to announce that Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce hosted a seminar titled "Sutradhar: Navigating a New Era of Parenting." The seminar, held on Saturday, 31st August 2024, was organized for the parents of SYJC students. The seminar aimed to provide insights into the academic requirements of each child and explore ways in which parents could effectively support their educational journey. A Workshop on Accessing N-LIST E-Resources

The Department of Library successfully organized a captivating workshop on accessing N-LIST E-Resources on 31st August 2024. Dr. Ajay M. Kamble, the esteemed Head Librarian of the Knowledge Resource Centre atAnnasaheb Vartak College of Arts, Kedarnath Malhotra College of Commerce, and E. S. Andrades College of Science, served as the resource person for this enlightening program. The workshop aimed to equip participants with comprehensive insights and practical skills to effectively navigate and utilize the vast array of e-resources available through N-LIST.

DEPARTMENT OF B.A (HISTORY) - EXPLORING HISTORY: A FIELD TRIP TO KANHERI CAVES

The Department of Arts (History) organized a field trip for all the students of S.Y.B.A and T.Y.B.A. to Kanheri Caves. The name ‘Kanheri’ is derived from the Sanskrit ‘Krishnagiri’, meaning black mountain since the caves are constructed on the basalt deposits. The Kanheri cave complex feature extensive Buddhist art and architecture. Exploring the Kanheri Caves provided valuable insights into early rock-cut architecture, religious places and monastic life. It also aided in preserving the cultural treasure and enhanced our understanding of India’s rich historical heritage. The main objectives behind the program held was: ● To provide the students with first hand exposure to early Buddhist rock-cut architecture. ● To instill an appreciation for preserving historical sites and cultural heritage among the students. ● To impart the significance of history and archaeology in understanding the past. The Western India Regional Council (WIRC of ICAI) held a seminar for SYJC students on Thursday, 29/08/2024, focusing on 'Career in Accounting and Finance for Youth'. The seminar aimed to promote Commerce Education, particularly career in Chartered Accountancy.

DEPARTMENT OF B.A (HISTORY) - BRINGING HISTORY TO LIFE: PANCHATANTRA’S TIMELESS WISDOM

The Department of Arts (History) organized a thought-provoking skit titled “Bringing History to Life: Panchatantra’s Timeless Wisdom” . The primary objective of the skit was to challenge the traditional perception that history is a static subject by showcasing how ancient stories like those from the Panchatantra continue to hold relevance in modern times. Through their performance the students of B.A. (History) highlighted the timeless lessons embedded within these ancient stories, emphasizing the relevance of historical teachings in today's society. The skit provided a firsthand experience to the participants and the audience of how history can inspire social change and impart essential life lessons. BMS Event - Field Visit to Navneet Publication Press Center

The Department of Bachelor of Management Studies (B.M.S.) organized a field visit to Navneet Publication Press Center in Vasai-Virar on August 24th, 2024. The visit involved 34 Second Year B.M.S. students, guided by two B.M.S. faculty members. This educational trip offered students a unique opportunity to observe the publishing industry operations up close, from production processes to distribution channels. The experience provided valuable practical insights, enhancing their understanding of business management and connecting classroom theory with industry practice.

B.Sc. (I.T.) & B.Sc. (C.S.) Event - "Training on Git and GitHub"

The "Training on Git and GitHub," held on August 24th, 2024, was a resounding success. Hosted at the TRCAC Seminar Hall, the session was led by Ghanshyam Vishwakarma, an SDE trainee, who shared his expertise on version control and collaborative development. Participants were introduced to fundamental Git commands and the practical uses of GitHub for managing repositories and facilitating teamwork. The event saw enthusiastic participation and lively interactions, providing valuable insights and hands-on experience for all attendees. The organizers extend their gratitude to everyone who joined and contributed to making the workshop both informative and engaging.

The Nature Club and the CEEP Committee of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce organized Nature Conservation skit at the Ashok Van Housing Society Dahisar East. Students performed a skit on topics related to Nature Conservation. (Event Date: 23rd August 2024)

B.A. department - F.Y.B.A. Bridge Course

The objective is to bridge the gap between the subjects studied by the students at the Junior College level and the subjects opted for at the graduation level. Target Audience: F.Y.B.A Attendees/invitees: A total of 255 students in the 4 days session. OBJECTIVES OF ACTIVITY 1. To introduce the students to elementary concepts in History. 2. To introduce the students to elementary concepts in microeconomic theories. 3. To introduce the students to the basic concepts in different domains of psychology. 4. To introduce the students to methods of study in the field of Humanities. OUTCOME OF THE EVENT 1. Develop a chronological framework of ancient Indian history. 2. Analyse different concepts of microeconomics and their relationships 3. Develop a better understanding of human relationships and communication. 4. To introduce study skills and tips.

B.A.M.M.C.- Photography Exhibition

The Department of B.A.M.M.C. organized a Photography Exhibition on 17th August 2024. The exhibition provided a platform for students to showcase their photographic skills and creativity, focusing on Street and Nature photography. The event was an intra-college competition open to students from all departments. It offered students the opportunity to display their work and receive feedback from industry professionals. The event featured three distinguished judges: Mr. Ashish Deurkar, Mr. Omkar Yederi, and Mr. Omkar Jadhav. The exhibition was held on a Saturday, and students actively participated, displaying their talent and passion for photography.

TRCAC Socials - Free blood checkup camp

On August 15, 2024, the TRCAC Socials unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce organized a free blood checkup camp for the teaching and non-teaching staff of Thakur Ramnarayan Educational Campus in celebration of the 78th Independence Day. The camp provided complimentary blood tests, including CBC and thyroid screenings, and successfully benefited over 70 individuals. This initiative highlighted the college's dedication to promoting health and well-being while fostering a strong sense of community among the staff.

The DevClub TRCAC under the department of B.Sc. (I.T.) & B.Sc.(C.S.) of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce had organised an induction program for first year students of B.Sc.(I.T.) &.B.Sc.(C.S.) on Tuesday, 16th July 2024. The event kicked off with an engaging introduction to DevClub TRCAC, where core members of the DevClub shared the club's vision, goals, the diverse range of projects undertaken, and the different domains of the club. New students learned about the commitment of DevClub to foster creativity, technical skills, and leadership among members.

Find Your Flow : A Dance Movement Therapy Exploration organized by Department of Arts (Psychology) Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce organized Find Your Flow : A Dance Movement Therapy Exploration on the 15th of June, 2024. Ms. Pallavi Shimpi Wadhwa had been invited as a special instructor. She introduced to the students Somatic Experiencing as a new theory and an emerging area of psychotherapeutic approaches which involves many forms and dance movement is one part of it. The B.A. Department (History) of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce had organised a field Visit for SYBA & TYBA - Brahmi Script students to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, (CSMVS) and Sightseeing landmarks in Mumbai (Churchgate) on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The purpose of this field trip was to offer the Brahmi Script course students valuable insights into ancient Indian history and the development of its languages and scripts. Nature's Club - Plastic Minimalism Project for a Green Campus

The Plastic Minimalism Project for a Green Campus, initiated by the Nature's Club of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce, commenced on July 12th 2024 and concluded on July 19th. 2024This proactive initiative aimed to reduce plastic usage across the campus, emphasizing sustainable practices and environmental consciousness among students and staff. Through various activities and awareness campaigns, the project sought to promote a cleaner and greener campus environment. Participants engaged in efforts to minimize plastic waste, encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly alternatives and fostering a culture of responsible consumption.

Nature's Club - VAN MAHOSTAV DAY

On July 6th, 2024, a heartfelt tree plantation drive was orchestrated at the Citizen Welfare Association Old Age Home to commemorate Van Mahotsav Day. Students joyously visited the home, fostering meaningful connections with the esteemed senior citizens. Beyond the act of planting saplings, this initiative promises manifold benefits: the trees will not only adorn the surroundings but also provide invaluable shade, mitigate pollution, and elevate the overall air quality, thereby fostering a healthier environment for the residents. Furthermore, the infusion of greenery is anticipated to nurture mental well-being, imparting a profound sense of serenity and tranquility that promises to significantly enrich the lives of our beloved elderly residents.

The Women Development Cell of Thakur Ramnarayan College Of Arts and Commerce recently hosted a dynamic seminar on Women's Legal Literacy which aimed at equipping women with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the legal system. BSc. (I. T.) and BSc. (C. S.) Field Trip to Adani Power Plant

The field trip was conducted on Tuesday, 27th April 2024 from 11 am to 4 pm at Adani Power by the department of B.Sc.(I.T.) and B.Sc.(C.S.). In this visit, the students were oriented regarding the working of the Adani Power Plant as well as they were brief about the process of the electricity generation under the project named 'UDAAN'.

B. A. Economics - Nari Shakti Fitness Run

Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce held a successful Nari Shakti Fitness Run on March 9th, 2024. The event aimed to raise awareness about women's issues and promote physical activity among students. It was organized by the Department of Arts in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra. The industrial visit was conducted on Tuesday, 5th March 2024 at Mahindra and Mahindra Farm Division by the department of B.Sc.(I.T.) and B.Sc.(C.S.). In this visit, the students were oriented regarding the working of the Farm division of Mahindra and Mahindra. The industrial visit was organized to stimulate the understanding of the importance of IT sectors and also to create critical thinking among the students by comparing contemporary conditions.

The Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce organised a skit and dramatization on the life of Queen Manikarnika, also known as Jhansi ki Rani under the annual Event Veergatha 2.0. The event was organised on Saturday, 24th February 2024 during college hours at the college campus itself.The main objective of the field visit was ● To inspire students by retelling the life story of Queen Manikarnika. ● To provide students with positive role models and familiarise them with historical figures. BSc. (I. T.) and BSc. (C. S.) department organized a seminar on topic "Cyber Security Seminar" on 3rd February 2024. The speaker of the seminar was Ms. Prachi Samant, Cyber Security Professional with an working experience of over 10 years in cyber security, Data analytics and Teaching. The main objective was to educate participants about the importance of cybersecurity and how it can be used to protect sensitive data and information. The seminar equipped participants with the knowledge and skills required to implement effective cybersecurity measures and defend against cyber threats.

The vision and mission of this fest is to give hands on training to the students of mass media in our institution, taking them one step closer to the industry they wish to pursue. The field trip began from Charni road Iskcon Temple to Banganga Tank at Malabar hill , a tour was given to the students of the site. After the tour, lunch was provided and then students were taken on a pilgrimage tour of the Babulnath at Malabar hill, which included a walk from Iskcon temple to Babulnath. The walk ended at Grant Road. The Department of B.A. in association with the Research and Development cell organized a Seminar on “Research Writing'' on Wednesday, 10th January, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the students of S.Y.B.A and T.Y.B.A.The resource person for the seminar was Ms Sarah Rezaei, Senior Research Assistant at Monk Prayogshala. The resource person briefed the students about the basics of writing a research paper in their field and its application in academic settings. The session also helped guide the students to identify different areas of research in their field and gave them a clarity regarding the scope of research in their field while motivating them to pursue it. The session ended with the participants' questions for certain clarifications and additional information. Participants asked a variety of questions to the resource person which were satisfactorily answered.

NATURE CLUB - " BEACH CLEAN UP DRIVE"

On September 16, 2023, the Nature Club hosted a successful Beach Clean Up Drive at Uttan Beach, Mira Road, in honor of International Coastal Clean Up Day. The event brought together passionate volunteers dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of their local coastline. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and a strong sense of community spirit, participants meticulously collected litter and debris, making significant strides toward a cleaner, healthier beach environment. Their collective effort not only contributed to the immediate cleanliness of Uttan Beach but also raised awareness about the importance of protecting our coastal ecosystems for future generations.

NATURE CLUB - "Govardhan Eco Village Field Visit "

On September 15, 2023, a field visit was organized for students to the Govardhan Eco Village, with transportation provided by two buses. Upon arrival, students received an overview of the various activities at the venue. The visit began with a tour of the Pyrolysis plant, where students learned about the process of recycling waste food. The itinerary continued with visits to the Gaushala, Temple, and green fields of organic farming. Students also explored candle making, perfume making, and, notably, the Solar plant, gaining valuable insights into the significance of green energy and sustainable practices.

The BAMMC department organised "Dramatic Society with the perspective to shape our students historically in the various elements of the society that will help them in the industry like acting , direction, Set designing, Marketing, public relations, Social media, costume design, Make-up, Digital marketing, and much more. We have invited celebrity, Mr. Sajid Samji (Writer, Director, and Actor of bollywood) as a chief guest and Mr. Shaan Grover (TV Actor) as guset of Honor. An Exhibition Museum on wheels was organized by Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce department 0n 9 th September 2023. Students from the junior and Degree College enthusiastically visited the museum set inside the bus. The exhibition was planned with the objective of making students aware of the history of human civilization and gain insights about the different artefacts dating to different time periods in history enhance their confidence. DEPARTMENT OF B.A (HISTORY) - "Elephanta Caves Field Trip"

Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce had organised a field visit on Elephanta caves on 31/08/2023 from 7.00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The field visit aimed at spreading awareness about the rock cut architecture. The students got first- hand experience about religious background of the caves and Buddhist stupa dating back to 2nd century B.C The students ofTYBA & S.Y.B.A participated in the field visit and guided by a teachers about the Sculpture and all 7 caves where the interior of the main cave relieved with a series of sculpture panels carved into the walls on either side of the entrance is end in three bays. The trip was interactive as the participants saw the three faces of Sadashiva represent Tatpurusha or Mahadeva, Aghora or Bhairava and Vamadeva or Uma. The Students asked a variety of questions to the teachers which were satisfactorily answered.

The department of B.A.M.M.C. organised a photo walk to Marine drive and Fort area as a photography assignment named "City Walk" on 11th August 2023. This photo walk will give you a perspective to live photography and would give you an understanding of the subject academics. BAF Event : "Induction Programme of F.Y. B.A.F."

Department of B.Com (Accounting & Finance) of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce had conducted an induction programme of F.Y.B.A.F. students on 5th July 2023 from 11am to 2pm. The induction started with address by the Degree Incharge Ms. Sumathi Rajkumar followed by a brief introduction of BAF department given by Program Coordinator Ms. Daksha Choudhary and core faculty members. Chairperson of CEEP and P.H.E. committees were also present and guided the students about the code of conduct of the respective committee. The whole event was managed by the students team of Second and Third year BAF under the guidance of core faculty members of the department. EVENT NAME - Monetary Museum RBI Visit RBI Museum Visit: A Glimpse into India’s Monetary History The TRCAC's visit to the RBI Museum proved to be an enriching experience. The museum offered a comprehensive overview of India's monetary evolution, from ancient coinage to contemporary currency management. I mean, who knew money could be so interesting? From ancient coins that looked like tiny works of art to the crisp new notes we use today, the museum had it all. It was mind-boggling to see how India's economy has transformed over the centuries. From bartering to digital wallets, it's crazy how far we've come. And those interactive displays? Genius! I felt like a financial wizard for a few hours. The highlight for me was definitely the rare coins. We couldn't believe how old some of them were! It's like holding a piece of history in your hand. Overall, it was a super informative and fun day out. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to appreciate the value of money (literally and figuratively).[DATE - 12 July 2023]

The BAMMC department had arranged a television professional anchoring training session for the learners. Arena animation , a well known name in animation training sector was invited to train the students for the same. The students and the BAMMC faculty members attended the session. The main objective was to make students aware of animation and its nuances.

Antiquitz

The students of T.Y.B.A, Department of History organized an exhibition ‘Antiquitz’ as a part of their curriculum project. The exhibition displayed a variety of exhibits like stamps, currency, geoids and mosaic art. The exhibits were a personal collection of the students. The exhibition gave the students an opportunity to develop their leadership and community interaction skills.

“ArtBeat”, an Expressive Art Therapy workshop on Stress Management was conducted by the Department of Psychology for all the degree college students in order to teach them a creatively productive way of managing and releasing their stress. This workshop had themes of visual, music, paint and body movement art.
