Election Commission Seminar

The N.S.S. Diwali with My Bharat

The N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce, in association with My Bharat invited all the volunteers for a special Diwali celebration, “ Ye Diwali My Bharat Wali”- an event dedicated to celebrating the festival of lights with a spirit of unity and cultural pride. Goodness Mela- Joy of Giving

The N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce invited all NSS Volunteers to participate in the Goodness Mela: Joy Of Giving event in collaboration with Akshay Shakti Foundation. This special initiative aimed to share the joy of giving values to visually challenged individuals, making a difference through kindness and compassion. Election Commission events

The N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce, in association with the Election Commission of India invited all volunteers to actively participate in the events organized by Election Commission. Clothes Collection Drive

The N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce, in collaboration with Bombay Recycling Concern and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), organized a Clothes Collection Drive to support the Waghri community. The initiative aimed to provide essential clothing to the underprivileged members of the community, helping to improve their living conditions. Volunteers collected donations of gently used clothes from students and local residents, ensuring that the items were distributed to those in need. Beach Cleanup Drive

The N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce in association with Ocean Owe and Mangrove Foundation, organized a Beach Cleanup Drive at Velankanni Beach, Mira Road to remove marine debris and litter from the shoreline, promoting environmental stewardship and raising awareness about ocean conservation. The cleanup drive helped improve the aesthetic appeal and environmental health of the beach, preventing potential harm to marine life and promoting community engagement in conservation efforts. Cyber Security Workshop

The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce is organized a Cyber Security Workshop which aims at empowering our volunteers with essential skills as to how to identify threats like cyber attacks, data hacks and phishing activities, along with the protocols for assessing the risk level, reporting the incident and fixing the issue. The objective is to equip students with help to maintain a high level of alertness among students, making them less likely to fall prey to cyber threats. (Event Date: 10th October - 18th December)

VOTER ID MAKING

The N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce, in association with the Election Commission, organized an event to assist local residents of Dahisar in preparing their Voter ID cards. Volunteers helped individuals obtain Voter ID cards as a means of identity proof, addressing general identification and address verification needs. (Event Date: 6th October 2024)

RRC RALLY ON AIDS AWARENESS

The N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce in association with the Red Ribbon Club organized a rally and street play to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS in the Anand Nagar locality. SHAHEED MAJOR KAUSTUBH RANE SMARAK CLEAN-UP DRIVE

The N.S.S. BHAJAN SANDHYA

The N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce in association with the National Service Scheme, University of Mumbai on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri ji. This event aimed to honor the contributions of these two great leaders to our nation and to inspire the spirit of service and devotion among volunteers and attendees. The atmosphere was filled with reverence and a sense of unity as participants gathered to pay homage to these icons. Voter Id

The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce in collaboration with the Election Committee will assist the local people to prepare their Voter ID card as an identity proof with an objective to help serve people for making general identity, address proof and other purposes. Awareness on Sudden Cardiac Arrest

The NSS unit from Thakur Ramnarayan College participated in BHAVISHYA BHARAT 2024, a National Award Festival for Social Work organized by Nagindas Khandwala College. The festival aimed to recognize the contributions of students and colleges in uplifting underprivileged communities. We are proud to announce that the NSS unit secured 1st prize in the Social Initiative for Tribals category, showcasing their commitment to making a positive impact in tribal areas. Flashmob Training Workshop

The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce, in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club (RRC) and Mumbai Districts AIDS Control Society (MDACS), had organized a 10-day Flashmob Training Workshop for N.S.S. volunteers. The workshop had aimed to train volunteers in performing flash mobs, a form of street theater, to effectively raise awareness about social issues, particularly HIV/AIDS. By the end of the workshop, volunteers had been equipped with both the performance skills and the knowledge necessary to advocate for important public health causes through their flash mob activities. Raksha Bandhan Celebration

The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce had proudly embarked on a heartfelt initiative to honor and support the courageous soldiers of our nation. In a display of love and respect, the dedicated volunteers had crafted 7,500 handmade rakhis, which were sent to soldiers stationed at the borders. The entire N.S.S. team had actively participated in the packing process, contributing their time and effort to this noble cause. Additionally, the N.S.S. Unit had celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the Special Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Jawans, as well as the committed officers of Dahisar, Borivali Police Stations, and the College Campus. The National Service Scheme Cell of the University of Mumbai invited all NSS volunteers to participate in the August Revolution Day. The day featured a Prabhatferi, a traditional early morning procession, aimed at keeping alive the flame of patriotism. The event served as a tribute to both renowned and unsung martyrs who sacrificed their lives for India's freedom, fostering a deep sense of national pride and remembrance among the participants. Independence Day Week

During Independence Week, the National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce organized a series of impactful events to celebrate national pride. The "Har Ghar Tiranga" initiative was aimed at encouraging the widespread display of the national flag, fostering a deep sense of patriotism. The week included engaging skit performances and a Tiranga rally, which were designed to educate and inspire both volunteers and the community about the significance of patriotism and the legacy of freedom fighters. Disaster Management Workshop

The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce, in association with the University of Mumbai, participated in a Disaster Management Workshop. The Disaster Management, Relief, and Rehabilitation Department addressed the recent heavy rains, lightning strikes, and flash floods affecting various parts of the state. This event provided a unique opportunity for direct interaction with dignitaries and experts in the field of disaster management. MBMC CSR CONCLAVE

The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce volunteered and assisted at the CSR Conclave: Transforming Mira Bhayandar 2047. The conclave served as a dynamic platform for fostering partnerships, driving impactful initiatives, and shaping the future of Mira Bhayandar. Through engaging panel discussions, thought leaders, industry experts, and government officials addressed pressing global challenges and innovative solutions in the sectors of education, environment, and healthcare within the context of Mira Bhayandar. First Year N.S.S. Induction Programme

The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce conducted the N.S.S. Induction Programme for new first-year volunteers, along with the Friendships Day celebration, in the Seminar Hall, TRCAC. During the event, the volunteers were introduced to the activities of the N.S.S. and briefed about their roles and contributions as new members. Prem Mahotsav

The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce, in association with the University of Mumbai, invited volunteers to watch 22 plays in celebration of the birth anniversary of Katha Samrat Munshi Premchand. The plays were performed in 22 languages recognized by the Indian Constitution over a span of three days. (Event Date: 31st July - 2nd August 2024)

Blood Donation-02

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce, along with Pruthvi Foundation organised blood donation camp for Thalassemia children at TRCAC CAMPUS. Successfully we collected 111 units of blood. (Event Date: 26th July 2024)

MDACS EVENT (University Level Program)

The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce in association with the N.S.S. Cell, University of Mumbai MDACS organised a Peer Educator Training Workshop for RRC. Blood Donation-01 (University level)

N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce in association with the University of Mumbai and Rotary Club of Mumbai Kandivali organised a blood donation drive at the University level at Borivali station. Blood donated by 80 people was successfully collected by the N.S.S. Unit which will help in saving lives. (Event Date: 1st July 2024)

Aashayein

N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce in association with SOVO IDF has initiated a project named as Aashayein, to help the underprivileged students & Zilla Parishad schools of the rural areas in Dahanu, Vangaon, Malad, and Birsa Munda Bal Gurukul Borivali by giving them an Educational Kit consisting of a school bag , notebooks, pencil and eraser box and colors with a motto to educate every individual in collaboration with IDF. Teams who were present voluntarily in event for packaging and distributing. Successfully we distributed around 800 educational kits to the childrens. (Event Date: 29th June 2024)

MSME DAY START-UP CONCLAVE

N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce in association with Zhep Udyogini, Kalpna Saroj Foundation & FICCI FLO Mumbai volunteered at the MSME (Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) Start-Up Conclave at the World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade. NSS Unit helped the associates in making necessary arrangements. There was active involvement of all the volunteers. They showed great enthusiasm throughout the day. (Event Date : 27th June 2024)

Drug Awareness Campaign

National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit guided by Borivali Police, made a profound impact through their participation in the World Drug Awareness campaign with an aim to create awareness among society about pros and cons of drugs on health. University Yoga Camp

N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce had participated in Yoga camp organized by the National Service Scheme Cell, University of Mumbai, Kaivalyadham Yoga Institute for a 5-day of Yoga training camp from 17th to 21st June, 2024 at Ishwardas Chunilal Yogic Health Centre, Charni Road. The training camp was of 3 days, basic yoga training as per CYP provided as prescribed by AAYUSH from the experts of Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute. The session aimed to create basic yogic skills and also to know the science behind Yoga. The program helped the participants to restore balance in life, helping to strengthen our body and mind, regain our focus and improve self-confidence. (Event Date : 17th June 2024 - 21st June 2024)

N.S.S. organized an event with an objective to prepare identification proof Voter ID, Aadhar Card and E-Shram card for the people in the locality Borivali.The programme was conducted in various locations on every Sunday in the month of June. (Event Date: 7th,14th and 21st June 2024)

Vriksropan Samaroh : World Environment Day

N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce had organized a Tree Plantation Event in the campus itself. The volunteers planted saplings in the campus along with faculty members. The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce had organized a No Honking Day to combat noise pollution caused by unnecessary honking in the areas of Kandivali and Dahisar East and West. N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce received an appreciation award from Ocean Owe Foundation on 27th April 2024 for its regular and continuous participation in beach cleanup drives for the year 2023-24. The Nehru Science Centre in Worli hosted COSMIC FEST 2024, an inspiring event organized by The Sky Explorers, AkshayaShakti, and Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce. N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce, in collaboration with AkshayaShakti organised the Akshaya Dhaaga event. The event was to appreciate the women and to provide them with their AkshayaDhaaga certificate. The motive behind this skill development programme was to make them Atmanirbhar. National Youth Day

Polio Drops Drive

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit and the CEEP Committee of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce organized a Polio Drops Drive on the TRCAC campus. Tree Plantation

National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce with the Indian Navy, initiated a Tree Plantation in Jogeshwari SRPF, long with Go Shoonya who were present voluntarily in event for planting tree sapling ,cleaning the area and spreading awareness about the importance of a healthy and pollution free environment. Indian Swachata League

N.S.S Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce organised Indian Swchata League. Teams who were present voluntarily for collection of waste and creation of awareness through rally. Volunteers carried out the activity by picking up the littered plastic wrappers, boxes, papers and empty bottles and disposing them by segregating the dry waste and wet waste, cleaning the area and spreading awareness about the importance of disposing the waste correctly in the dustbin instead of littering it in the surrounding. The N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce organized an E-waste Collection Drive with the objective of promoting a green society. Rakhi Making

National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan provided 4200 handmade rakhis to the Indian Armies as an act of gratitude towards the protection and safety provided by them throughout the society. The Volunteers made rakhis at the college campus for consecutive 5 days while making the rakhis and later the rakhis were neatly packed with the packet of Tika and Sweets for our Soldiers in order to be able to express their gratitude towards them. IDF (Indian Development Foundation) and National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce had organized Bal Gurukul , was conducted at location National Park, Borivali East Barisa Munda Bal gurukul. The term "Bal Gurukul" " which refers to a traditional Indian educational system or residential schooling system, often associated with holistic education. Awareness on Environmental issues

The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce organized an awareness event on environmental issues in collaboration with the Indian Navy and Go Shoonya in Ghatkopar. The volunteers planted saplings and did wall painting to raise awareness about the environmental issues. Additionally, at Mumbai Port, they performed live recycling of waste. Avoid “ME” -Plastic Bag event was organized by N.S.S. Unit of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce to create awareness for avoiding usage of plastic bags and instill the habit to use paper bags.
