EDC Volunteers Gain Insights on Union Budget 2025-26 at MVIRDC World Trade Center

On 4th February 2025, seven EDC volunteers and one EDC team member from Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce attended an interactive session on the Union Budget 2025-26 at MVIRDC World Trade Center, Mumbai. Organized by MVIRDC and AIAI, the event featured experts discussing fiscal policies, tax reforms, and economic growth. The session, graced by Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of MVIRDC, offered students a chance to engage with industry leaders and gain insights into the budget's impact on various sectors, aligning with their academic and entrepreneurial goals.

EDC AAGAZ UTSAV: A Celebration of Student Entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce organized EDC AAGAZ UTSAV from 22nd to 25th January 2025 on campus. The event featured 9 student-run stalls, offering a variety of products and services, showcasing creativity and business acumen. The festival received an enthusiastic response from students and faculty, promoting hands-on entrepreneurial learning. It was a successful initiative, reinforcing the college’s commitment to fostering young entrepreneurs.

EDC Stalls at BMC Event

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce set up stalls at the Brihanmumbai Mahanagar Corporation (BMC) event on 16th January and 24th January 2025. With BMC’s support, the stalls featured EDC’s products, allowing students to manage sales and promotions, gaining hands-on entrepreneurial experience. This initiative received a great response, reinforcing EDC’s commitment to practical learning and business skill development.

Field Visit to Seva Vivek NGO – An Enlightening Experience

On 10th December 2024, 14 EDC volunteers and one EDC team member visited Seva Vivek NGO to explore its bamboo handicrafts manufacturing initiative. Seva Vivek empowers underprivileged communities by providing skill-based training in crafting eco-friendly bamboo products. During the visit, volunteers observed the intricate process of transforming raw bamboo into sustainable handicrafts, gaining insights into social entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. This field visit, organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), reinforced the importance of eco-conscious business practices and inspired students to explore innovative ways to contribute to social impact and sustainable entrepreneurship.

EDC Volunteers Shine at Jio World Trade Center

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce made its mark at the prestigious Jio World Trade Center by setting up a stall on October 25th and 26th, 2024. Over two days, the EDC volunteers showcased their entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and innovative products, attracting visitors from various backgrounds. This opportunity provided the students with a real-world platform to enhance their marketing and networking skills. It also highlighted the college’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship among its students.

Grand Launch of AARIN: Empowering the Transgender Community

On October 3rd, 2024, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) Lab hosted the grand launch of AARIN, an initiative aimed at empowering the transgender community through the production of agarbattis (incense sticks). The event featured distinguished guests, including Chief Guests Ms. Simran Ma’am and Dr. Narayan Murthi Sir, along with Dr. Sumathi Rajkumar Ma’am, Principal of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce. AARIN represents a significant step towards inclusivity and economic independence. Ms. Simran Ma’am highlighted that AARIN is “not just a product; it’s a movement.” This initiative not only promotes a unique cultural product but also paves the way for positive change and greater acceptance in society. Celebrating Tradition and Entrepreneurship: Rakhi Stall Success at Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce recently hosted a successful 7-day Rakhi stall on campus. The stall featured handcrafted bamboo Rakhis from our future startups of Tribal craft, made by the Adivasi tribal community, celebrating both cultural heritage and sustainability. With enthusiastic support from faculties, students, and non-teaching staff of both the degree and junior colleges, all 600 Rakhis were sold out. This initiative not only demonstrated the entrepreneurial spirit of our students but also supported the Adivasi artisans. The success of this event highlights the power of community and sets a promising precedent for future EDC initiatives.

INNOVATION EXPO

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell at Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce successfully hosted the "Innovation Expo 2024" on June 27th, attracting 90 students eager to explore entrepreneurship. The event featured inspiring sessions by Raj Mehta, Sahil Tekchandani, and Prachi Gilatar from Shoutinandout, along with Ms. Pragati Bhoir from Seva Vivek NGO, who shared valuable insights into the entrepreneurial world. Highlights from the MSME Conclave 2024: A Gateway for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

The MSME Conclave 2024 was held on June 27 at the World Trade Centre in Mumbai, India, organized by FICCI FLO as a capacity-building program for over 500 MSMEs. Under the theme "Power to Empower," the event featured two insightful panel discussions covering key topics such as export opportunities, packaging technologies, entrepreneurship, and the importance of finance. Our college was represented by one faculty member and fifteen enthusiastic students, who engaged in these sessions and gained valuable knowledge about the MSME landscape. The conclave also included a ceremony honoring 18 MSMEs for their exceptional turnover and unique products, showcasing the innovation within the sector.(Event Date: 27th June 2024)

EDC Team Visits Akshaya Dhaaga for Social Entrepreneurship Insights

On 17th June 2024, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) team of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce visited Akshaya Dhaaga in Sativali, Vasai-Virar. Two faculty members met with Ms. Kiran Badhe, founder of @WE WORTH, to learn about AkshayaShakti’s Project AkshayaDhaaga, which focuses on empowering local communities through sustainable fabric production.
