TRCAC Green Club’s Plantation Drive – Growing a Greener Tomorrow On 30th September 2025, the Green Club of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce (TRCAC) organized a Plantation Drive in the college premises. Under the guidance of gardener Mr. Sanjay, students and faculty learned proper planting techniques — from soil preparation to watering. Everyone actively participated, planting saplings with enthusiasm. The activity promoted environmental awareness and reminded all that every small plant today nurtures a greener tomorrow.
The Green Club of the Junior College successfully organized a workshop titled “Plastic Reboot: Recycling for a Greener World.” The session featured Mr. Neelkanth Aiyyar as the guest speaker, who shared valuable insights and practical steps towards creating a greener and more sustainable world. The workshop highlighted the importance of plastic recycling and emphasized its role in building a sustainable future. The Green Club of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce organized an enriching Nature Trail to Tungareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary on Tuesday, 26th September 2025. Students had the opportunity to explore the sanctuary’s diverse flora and fauna, gaining a deeper understanding of biodiversity and the importance of conservation. The trail provided a peaceful escape into nature and a chance to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. With only 60 spots available, it was a truly exclusive and memorable experience. This initiative helped foster environmental awareness and encouraged students to become responsible stewards of nature. A walk to remember!

On 5th September 2025, the Green Club organised a refreshing Nature Walk to Yeoor Hills and Chirma Devi Waterfall, Thane. The event offered faculty members a perfect blend of adventure and learning as they explored the lush green trails, observed diverse flora and fauna, and understood the importance of urban biodiversity. Adding to the experience, they actively participated in a plantation drive, planting native saplings to contribute towards environmental conservation. The group also discussed the significance of forests, watershed health, and responsible eco-tourism, making the walk not just recreational but deeply insightful.
The Green Club organised a field visit to Keshav Srushti on 11th August 2025. Forty-five students actively participated in activities like the Agarbatti-making workshop and the plastic recycling project. The visit helped them understand nature, conservation, and the importance of protecting the environment, as there is truly ‘No Planet B’.
To mark the global observance of World Environment Day, Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce hosted a vibrant and meaningful celebration on 5th June 2025. Centered around the powerful theme “Plastic-Free World”, the event aimed to inspire eco-conscious actions and promote sustainable living practices among students, staff, and faculty. The celebration commenced with a tree plantation drive, led by our esteemed Principal Dr. Sumathi Rajkumar and Vice Principal Dr. Neha Goel, symbolizing the college’s commitment to nurturing nature and fostering a greener campus. Their active participation set a motivating tone for the day. Following the plantation ceremony, all attendees united to take a pledge for Plastic Minimalism, vowing to reduce the use of single-use plastics in daily life and support initiatives that promote eco-friendly alternatives. The pledge was a strong reminder of our individual and collective responsibility toward a cleaner, healthier planet. Throughout the event, the college campus echoed with the message of sustainability, and students actively engaged in discussions, activities, and awareness campaigns focused on minimizing plastic dependency. Entrepreneurship development Cell (EDC) successfully conducted a Workshop on Crochet Making from 9th sep 2025 to 15th sep, The session aimed to introduce participants to the art of combining crochet techniques with basics enhancing their creativity and practical skills. The workshop covered the basics of crochet and creating decorative patterns. Students actively participated and created their own pieces, gaining hands-on experience and inspiration for future design projects. The workshop concluded with a display of students' work and certificate distribution, marking a successful and enriching experience for all involved.
On 3rd December 2024, the Nature Club organized an E-Waste Collection Drive in collaboration with 'The Recycling Company, Thereco,' at Room No. 803 on the TRCAC campus to raise awareness about the environmental impact of electronic waste and encourage responsible disposal practices. The drive aimed to collect and recycle discarded electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops, and other gadgets, preventing harmful substances like lead, mercury, and cadmium from polluting the environment. It also emphasized the importance of repair, reuse, and recycling to reduce electronic waste. The event contributed to a cleaner campus, promoted sustainable waste management, and fostered environmental consciousness among students, faculty, and the community.
The Nature Club successfully conducted the Green Audit on the college campus on 29th November 2024, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The audit focused on evaluating our campus's environmental performance, including resource usage, waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation, and overall sustainability practices. The event provided valuable insights into areas for improvement and highlighted eco-friendly strategies to enhance our environmental efforts. We thank all participants and faculty members for their active involvement in this important initiative towards fostering a more sustainable campus.
On 19th September, Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Treco Threco - The Recycling Company to launch an E-Waste Collection Campaign. This partnership aims to establish a comprehensive framework for the responsible management of electronic waste. The campaign focuses on raising public awareness about the importance of e-waste recycling, setting up convenient collection points, and promoting sustainable disposal practices. The expected outcomes include a significant increase in e-waste collection, a reduction in the environmental impact of improper disposal, and enhanced collaboration between the college and Treco Threco. Ultimately, the initiative strives to foster a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility within the community.
